“Some years ago, my nurse detected I had an irregular heartbeat and said I needed to see my doctor about it. I was referred to a cardiologist who diagnosed me with afib and had to have surgery. If she hadn't told me, it could have been very serious for me. During my January appointment, my nurse persisted in recommending that I get a physical. A month later, I saw my PCP. My PSA was very high and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, for which I will soon be starting a treatment plan. She may have saved my life again.
