Performed by an RN, these include evaluations of weight, blood pressure, pulse, body composition, and fitness. Other components include a review of current meds and recommended preventive health screenings.

By seeing the nurse evaluator on a regular basis, the participant gets feedback as to how their present lifestyle is affecting both their current health and their risk of developing issues in the future. As they make changes they get immediate feedback as to the impact on the risks they are attempting to reduce.

It is important to understand that these appointments are much more that just sitting down with someone and having tests done. Many confidential topics of discussion between the nurse and the participant may be approached, depending on what is deemed important at that point. These may include stress, family issues, co-worker conflicts, or even relationship issues and abuse. The nurse may become a trusted confidante, as well as an excellent source for access to available resources.
